A pocket cassette player for your own music
REWIND turns your iPhone into a pocket cassette player. 10 hand-drawn cassette machines show reels turning while your songs play, a swipe winds the tape, and pause does a real tape stop. Most of them are free. The music is yours: MP3, AAC, FLAC and other files you import.

What does a cassette player look like in REWIND?
Each machine is a cassette mechanism drawn open, some mounted on a clear acrylic plate with standoff screws and the year printed in the corner. You see the cassette, the reels, the heads and the buttons, and the paper insert shows title and artist.
The default machine is the 1995 one. Sorted by year, the pocket machines run from 1987 to 1997.

How do I wind and rewind the tape?
Swipe across the cassette to fast-forward or rewind. The reels spin faster, the song jumps, and the machine clicks as you go. Pause slides the pitch down like a real tape stop.
Details live on the tape mechanics page. Clicks and haptics can be switched off in Settings.
Which cassette machines are included?
Free machines: 1987, 1988, 1990, 1995, 1995 default, 1996 and 1997. PRO adds 1992, 1994 and 1996.

How does cassette sound work?
The analog sound switch adds tape saturation, wobble (wow and flutter) and hiss, each with its own slider. Learn what they mean in what is wow and flutter and what is tape saturation.
Pair it with the equalizer and the Warm preset for a classic sound.

Can I make a mixtape?
Yes. Mixtapes are playlists with a label you write yourself in a handwritten style. The free version allows one tape and PRO allows unlimited. Follow make a mixtape on iPhone and see mixtapes.
Does it work offline?
Fully. Files are copied into the app and nothing needs a network. The cassette player app guide covers the setup.
